Our colleague Anna Shabanova spends her free time reconstructing historical events as part of the Ingolf Club, which recreates the culture and spiritual life of our ancestors, their way of life and customs related to the historical period of Ancient Russia.
From July 9 to 10, 2022, the annual festival of historical reconstruction "Helga"was held. The festival was held in the village of Vybuty, Pskov region, the birthplace of Princess Olga, Equal-to-the-Apostles. Princess Olga-wife of the Great Russian Prince Igor Rurikovich, mother of Svyatoslav Igorevich, ruled Russia from 945 to 960. At birth, the girl was given the name Helga (Olga), and at baptism she became known as Elena. Olga is the first female ruler in Russia to assume power as regent under her son Svyatoslav after the death of her husband at the hands of the rebellious Drevlyans. Olga is known for being the first ruler of the Ancient Russian state to voluntarily convert to Christianity.
The purpose of the festival is to identify and support people, groups and clubs that study and preserve the historical cultural traditions of the Pskov land and the ethno-cultural heritage of Russia. Creating conditions for bringing together the keepers and bearers of authentic culture of all the peoples of Russia on the site of the annual Helga Historical Reconstruction Festival, as well as increasing the interest of festival guests in the authentic culture of the peoples of Russia, immersing them in the atmosphere of "living history".
The festival was attended by both reenactment clubs and individual participants who came from different parts of our country, demonstration fights of squads, tournaments of duelists, a competition for the title "Helga", which was prepared by our Anna, were held. Participants listened to live music performed by the Moscow band "MystTerra" on folk instruments, as well as visited fairs and various master classes.
Currently, the organizer of the festival "Helga" Vasily Mizgarev in the village of Vybuty in the birthplace of Grand Duchess Olga (Helga) and her grandson Vladimir is creating a historical park "Epics of ancient Pskov" for the revival, preservation and study of the history and culture of the Fatherland, strengthening moral values, educating young people and the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism, love to the native land and knowledge of their roots and origins.
The past is a valuable fragment of time, a part of the life of a person and humanity as a whole. The past of humanity is an integral part of our history. It is important to know who we are, where we come from, and what a person experienced during certain periods of time. It is necessary to remember the achievements and victories, wars and destruction. All this is important for our present and future. This attitude to our history corresponds to the position and principles of the founder and owner of the "Dedication "Holding Company, Malik Khakimov, who honors and respects the traditions of our ancestors, and thanks the organizers and participants of the Helga Historical Reconstruction Festival for the opportunity to plunge into the history of our ancestors, learn about their culture, spiritual life, and everyday life and customs.
